Burberry Complete Eye Palette: Dark Spice No. 05 (pics & swatches)

O-M-G... I knew I loved Burberry eyeshadows and I knew I was excited about their newest eye quads, but I didn't know how much I would LOVE their Complete Eye Palette in Dark Spice No. 05.  I had previously featured Plum Pink here, which I bought along with Dark Spice, but I've been busy with prepping for the holidays that I didn't have time last week to shoot swatches and FOTDs (yes, plural... to post soon!).  I really loved working with Plum Pink, but I really, really loved using this palette as I felt it was so versatile and very easy to create day and evening looks.

The colors in this quad are typical Burberry buttery smooth.  The darkest color, a matte black was a little patchy when swatched and a little dry when applied with the slightest  fall out.  The other three colors (satiny-matte yellow-gold, satin copper brown, shimmery dark brown with fine gold glitter) were easy to apply without any fallout.  The lightest color wasn't light enough to use as a highlight on my medium-tan skin, but when applied on my lids, it was a my-lids-but-better type of color, serving as a perfect base for any look.

Overall, this was a GREAT BUY and I'm so glad that I bought it.  This has to my latest favorite purchase.  I love it that much for the fact that when I created my FOTDs, I started with my day look and added more of the three darker colors to create my night look (without removing my makeup first) all in a time span of 5 minutes!  I don't typically carry a makeup bag, but if I did, this would be the compact that I would carry for those spontaneous post-work dinner and drinks.

For those that follow my blog, I have to apologize for the lack of posts this week.  I've been working night shifts these past few weeks and it just sucks the energy out of me.  On my off days, I feel like a zombie.  Fortunately, I caught up on sleep last night and was able to crank out a few FOTDs while the storm up here in northern California decided to take a lunch break and allow me to step outside to take pictures.  These pictures are pretty true to color.  Enjoy!
